Pranksy AI Privacy Policy
Pranksy AI ("Pranksy AI", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use the Pranksy AI iOS application (the "App"), why it is handled, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we handle
Photos and generated images
When you choose a photo, the App accesses only the photo you select. The App crops and compresses that photo on your device. Before each upload, the App identifies OpenAI as the third-party AI provider, explains that the selected photo will be shared, and asks for your permission. If you continue, the App sends the compressed photo and the photo effect you selected through our service to OpenAI so the requested edit can be generated.
The generated image is returned to the App. It is saved to your Photos library or shared with another service only when you choose to save or share it. We do not access your entire photo library.
Photos can contain personal information, including images of people, objects, or locations. You should only submit a photo if you have the right and any necessary permission to use it.
Purchases and subscription information
The App uses Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat to offer and manage Pranksy Premium. In connection with this service, RevenueCat may process:
- a randomly generated App User ID;
- product and subscription identifiers;
- purchase, entitlement, renewal, and expiration status; and
- limited device, app, and technical information needed to operate and diagnose the purchase service.
We do not receive or store your full payment-card details. Apple processes payments under your Apple ID.
Information stored on your device
The App stores a randomly generated App User ID in the iOS Keychain. This information is used to restore your subscription status and associate your account with the App's free-use limit. It is not used for advertising and is not synced by the App across your devices.
Technical information
When the App communicates with service providers, those providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, device or app details, and diagnostic information. Their handling of this information is governed by their own privacy terms.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- provide photo editing and AI image generation;
- deliver generated images to your device;
- process purchases and determine whether Pranksy Premium is active;
- apply the free-generation allowance;
- restore purchases and respond to support requests;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose service failures; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your photos or App activity for targeted advertising, and the App does not contain third-party advertising or cross-app tracking technology.
3. When information is shared
Information is shared only as needed with:
- OpenAI, which receives the selected compressed photo and editing instruction to generate the requested result;
- RevenueCat, which manages subscription status, purchase entitlements, and Premium generation credits;
- Apple, which processes App Store purchases and provides Photos and sharing functionality at your direction;
- services you choose, when you use the iOS share sheet or save an image; and
- authorities or other parties when legally required, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
Selected and generated images are held in the App's working memory only as needed to provide the current editing experience, unless you save or share the result. Our backend forwards generation requests and does not maintain a photo database or intentionally store your photos. OpenAI may retain request data according to its terms, legal obligations, and service settings.
A pseudonymous free-generation allowance record is stored by our backend, resets weekly, and is deleted after 180 days without allowance activity. Your random App User ID remains in the iOS Keychain until it is removed by the operating system, the device is erased, or it is otherwise reset. RevenueCat and Apple retain purchase and subscription records according to their respective policies and legal requirements.
5. Your choices and rights
You can:
- decline Photos access or select only the photo you want the App to use;
- change the App's Photos permission in iOS Settings;
- choose not to save or share a generated image;
- manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings;
- request restoration of eligible purchases from within the App; and
- contact us to ask about access, correction, or deletion of personal information associated with the App, subject to applicable law.
Because the App does not require an account and uses a random identifier, include the Support ID shown in the App's account menu when asking us to locate or delete the associated backend allowance record. Some purchase records must be retained by Apple or RevenueCat for legal, fraud-prevention, or accounting reasons.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. We will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.
6. Children's privacy
Pranksy AI is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
7. Security and international processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information. However, no electronic transmission or storage method is entirely secure. Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for such transfers.
8. Third-party services
We select service providers whose privacy and security commitments are intended to protect information consistently with this policy and applicable law.
The following policies provide more information about key services used by the App:
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, our providers, or legal requirements. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or its App Store listing where appropriate.
